A Doctor’s Notes: Artistry, Education, and Wellness
“Let us now compose our thoughts.”
A project that has been a labor of love and as I like to say, a true representation of my authentic self through my work. I have always wanted to have a conversation platform with which I could explore ideas from various perspectives and hear stories that might not have never been told. Throughout the years, I have had the ability and privilege to talk to audiences about my life as a musician. More often than not, these groups have not been musicians, so I had to think how I could connect what I do with what they do. Having had success with that on many occasions, I began to explore how it could be a continuous conversation. Thus, the creation of this podcast.
The idea of artistry expands beyond what the mind may think of when hearing that word. We often think of paintings, music, dance, etc. But anything creative or anything that requires some development of a specific skill or set of skills is artistry.
This inevitably brings the education element. The training involved, our individuality when it comes to the information, continued learning, and the teaching of the knowledge.
Wellness is the final component. It explores the process of how we prepare ourselves to do our artistry. Additionally, the element of the artistry resulting in the creation of wellness. It encompasses the physical, mental, and emotional; all of which can change with time.
